Achieving your goals

I see so many people who even after going on strict diets and/or punishing workout plans still never realise their dream physique, feel body confident, have the energy they crave, or the health they desire.

The reason this happens is because they are going about their goals the wrong way.

Punishing and depleting your body over and over again in the gym with increasingly intense workouts without giving it time to recover, as well and feeding it less and less calories is - in the long term - only going to make the situation worse.

The problem is only going to be exaggerated when the calories eaten are completely deficient in nutrients and extremely toxic for the human body.

It's not uncommon to see people going through this process looking exhausted, with cracked and blemished skin, bags under their eyes, dull and oily hair, brittle nails with exaggerated mood swings.

This process is also why people may start to lose weight to begin with as the body reacts to a dramatic decrease in calories and increase in exercise, but in the long term it's why people eventually fall of the so called 'wagon', because their body is exhausted, their internal systems depleted, their hormones are out of sync, and their mind is frazzled.

Once their body has got used to the decrease in calories and increase in activity, the weight that feel off in the beginning suddenly hits a plateau.

In fact, it won't budge.

This leads to them thinking they need to train harder and more frequently and eat less and less calories to continue to lose weight.

So, off they go and do exactly that, and still nothing changes.

(In fact, they may even increase in weight as their body goes into survival mode.)

Except they now feel even more exhausted, and mentally they feel like a failure because their body isn't where they want it to be, even though they've been working harder than ever and eating less and less.

No wonder people give up.

I would.

It's so frustrating because this is a story is see time and time again. Especially from women.
The equation to get the body they dream of is much simpler than what they think.

It comes down to...

  • Eating high quality foods
  • Taking care of internal health
  • Detoxifying daily
  • Reducing stress levels (which comes in many forms)
  • The correct exercise and movement
  • The correct volume of exercise
  • Relaxation time
  • Family time
  • Introspection time
  • Detoxing the mind (mental clarity)
  • Having Life Purpose and working towards those goals

Plus few more things, as well as knowing when and where to implement them.

However, put simply, it's about taking a holistic approach to their goals and dreams.

Instead of restriction and punishment,. they should be giving their body what it needs to be healthy, happy and whole.

Instead of a mindset that says...

"I hate my body because it doesn't look the way I want it to, so I'm going to punish myself with exercise and restrictive food choices even though I hate doing it" ...

They should be making loving choices that are going to take them closer to their goals.

By not eating enough calories, or foods that are nutrient dense, you are never going to achieve long lasting health or a body you are proud of.

The same goes for exercise.

If you are exhausted and you keep pushing your body to failure then it's a recipe for disaster.

I like to use the analogy of ...

If you were to smash a plate once it's not too hard to put back together. But the more you smash it, the more cracks occur, and therefore the longer it will take to repair.

Which comes to my next point...

Less is often more.

By giving your body the adequate exercise, rest, recovery, food, and hydration it needs, you will get the results you want.

They may not come over night like some diet plans claim they can, but they will come.

Plus, by doing it from a place of love and looking to create a lean and healthy body - instead of doing it from a place of hate and disgust - your results will last a life time.

How do I know this?

Well, it's something I've seen hundreds of times with my clients.

Even with clients that have spent thousands of pounds seeing doctors, specialists, consultants and dieticians and wasted decades following what I can only best describe as ill informed advice.

Therefore, if you want a body you love ... come from a loving place.
